We are a Sydney-based interior design studio that works closely with our clients to deliver innovative design solutions. We approach every project with a holistic view maximising site potential and creating unique spaces that truly reflect our client's style, personalities and the way in which they wish to live.
Each project is customised and executed with the highest level of detail, quality and service.
We reimagine spaces and floor plans through innovative interior design, resolve design problems with practical interior design solutions, and help our clients emotionally connect to their surrounding environment by adding layers of warmth and texture through interior decoration and final styling.
Contact our Studio Manager today to discuss your project and the design processs in more detail.
This is an opportunity for us to discuss your brief, what it is that you are hoping to achieve, understand your ideas and expectations around timing and budget.
If your brief and our services align, we will arrange an initial consultation (either on site or in our Potts Point studio) to meet with our Director & Design Principal Alexandra Kidd.
Following our consultation and meeting, we will create a customised Fee Agreement for your consideration.
This will be tailored to your specific needs incorporating your brief, the Scope of Works, the proposed stages required to deliver your project from concept through construction to completion, as well as budget, our design fees and terms and conditions of the contract.
A custom combination of the following stages will make up the steps of your design journey:
Concept Design
Approvals (e.g. Development Application, Section 4.55, Complying Development Certificate, Owners Corporation)
Design Development
Documentation
Tender & Contract
Construction & Inspection
The Decoration Process refers to Furnishings & Installation, which is also affectionately called ‘the fun stage’!
Often in conjunction with stages of the Design Process, we will work with you, and within your budget, to select or custom design furniture, furnishings, accessories and artwork to complement the interior architecture and design. We will ensure that each piece and detail is loved as much as the bigger picture design.
We will carry out quality control of all orders, implement perfect placement and final styling of all items.
The Design Process
Concept Design
Addressing the areas we discuss during our initial consultation, we will prepare and present a comprehensive and holistic Concept Design closely aligned with your vision and personal aesthetic, which will include:
Multiple considered plans indicating proposed layouts
Representative images of design inspiration, finishes, fittings, fixtures, preliminary furniture selections and 2D sketches
Physical samples of finishes, fittings and soft furnishings
APROVALS
If required, we will prepare and lodge the relevant documentation for Council or Owners Corporation Executive Committee approval.
DeSIGN DEVELOPMENT & DOCUMENTATION
We will further develop and resolve the design and provide detailed documentation including 1:100 plans of interior spaces and 1:20 detail plans of required rooms and joinery.
We will work with you to select, document and provide written specifications for all hard surfaces and finishes including flooring, cabinetry, bathroom fittings, paint or wallpaper, window treatments, light fittings and hardware.
TENDER & Contract
The detailed plans and specifications will be sent out to a pool of builders for costing and a comprehensive budget analysis will be completed for your review and approval.
We will assist you to review the building contracts and appoint your perfect builder.
Construction & Inspection
This is where the dream on paper comes to life!
We will perform the role of Project Manager and will coordinate the construction process to ensure that your new space conforms in every respect to the approved Scope of Works and approved documentation. We will also be here to guide you through this often emotionally charged time.
We will:
Coordinate off-site manufacturing such as cabinetry
Review all colour and material samples and selections
Facilitate regular on-site inspection meetings
Assist you to approve progress claims under the building contract
Conduct a final inspection and rectify any outstanding defects, if required
We won’t rest until the last light bulb has been tested and the final picture is hung!
